I stumbled upon your publication and I'm so happy I did. Fierce Resilience and your definition, and why it matters is an invitation for each of us to find it within. Thank you.
I love your 40% concept. I watch Sean being overwhelmed by the amount of writing they are throwing at the junior writers. They are like rats where the wheel is being spun faster and faster, and I see the energy just drain from him until there is only 40% left. Your idea that 100% of 40% is still 100% is so consoling because sometimes that is all a person has left to give.
Mary, this edition of your newsletter gave me a shot in the heart, creating space and margin just as life was feeling so constrained and suffocating. 40% is all I have this week, but being reminded that I'm still giving my all is a gift I did not know my heart needed today. Most of the time, I'm in that scared-shitless mode of "I'm not enough" and "I'm a fraud." So coming back to center this morning is a real gift. Thank you!
I’m so glad it landed right when it did. So hard for us (myself included) to remember that our value is intrinsic and it’s not just about keeping up with the hamster wheel of output that’s demanded of us.

Thank you, Paulette! What a huge compliment. I hope I can continue to serve stories that uplift your spirit when needed!
A good one. Shared with Aunt Becky. Hope she reads it.
Lots of thoughts on 10 years ago.
It’s SXSW time.
Yay! Love the new name. Somehow, your newsletter serves up exactly what I need to hear, on exactly the day I need it most. Thank you, Mary!❤️
Thank you, Maria! That makes me so happy 🩷🩷

That is really reality! Working or retired. We want to give it our best shot, whether it be exhaustion, disease, aging, loss. The human condition.
Exactly! I have definitely been in his position. It’s so hard to observe your child be so strained but I applaud him for giving what he can.
